Robot maker Unitree is preparing to go public, and traders on Hyperliquid are already assigning it a valuation that sits well above the company’s reported IPO pricing, according to Allium analysts cited by CoinDesk.
The analysts said Hyperliquid market participants are valuing Unitree at nearly $38 billion, compared with a $9 billion valuation implied by the IPO. That gap suggests a sharp divergence between how public-market investors may price the listing and how traders in decentralized markets are positioning ahead of the debut.
The spread also raises the risk that leveraged bets could come under pressure once trading begins. If the IPO clears at a level closer to the lower valuation cited by Allium, positions built around a much higher estimate may need to adjust quickly. The source material does not specify the size of those positions or how broadly the pricing is reflected across Hyperliquid.
Unitree’s move toward a public listing adds another example of crypto-linked markets overlapping with real-world asset pricing. In this case, the focus is less on the company’s robotics business than on the market’s attempt to price future demand before the first public trade. The Allium analysis suggests that derivatives or other leveraged exposure on Hyperliquid may be expressing a more optimistic view than the IPO market.
That does not necessarily mean the higher estimate will prove incorrect. But it does show how quickly expectations can diverge when a private company approaches the public markets and traders try to front-run the outcome. The gap between the reported IPO valuation and Hyperliquid pricing leaves room for volatility when Unitree starts trading.
CoinDesk reported the analysis from Allium on Aug. 15. Based on the available information, the key takeaway is the scale of the disconnect: a roughly fourfold difference between the IPO valuation and the level implied by traders on Hyperliquid. Whether that gap narrows through the listing process or persists into the first days of trading remains uncertain.
